The Brazilian Microbiology Society (SBM) is a civil nonprofit, scientific, founded on September 28, 1956.
SBM is present in both basic and applied microbiology, which can be subdivided into areas according to scientific advances in each sector.
Therefore, it brings together representatives from different areas of Microbiology: Industrial Microbiology, Biotechnology, Mycology, Mycotoxins, Environmental Microbiology, Food Microbiology, Soil Microbiology, Human Medical Microbiology, Clinical Microbiology, Hospital Infection, Veterinary Microbiology.
SBM organizes and promotes Symposia, Conferences and Courses of different areas throughout the country.
