Veterinary Microbiology

Veterinary Microbiology includes the study of structural, physiological, metabolic and host interaction aspects of microorganisms involved in the etiology of diseases in animals of different species. It is also related to the understanding of antimicrobial resistance, its mechanisms and possible therapeutic alternatives to this important challenge of present times.

Another field of interest is the study of diseases with zoonotic potential and those transmitted from food of animal origin.
