Introduction: Sexually਀吀爀愀渀猀洀椀琀琀攀搀 䐀椀猀攀愀猀攀猀 ⠀匀吀䐀⤀ 挀漀渀猀琀椀琀甀琀攀 愀 洀愀樀漀爀 瀀甀戀氀椀挀 栀攀愀氀琀栀 瀀爀漀戀氀攀洀 眀漀爀氀搀眀椀搀攀Ⰰ 瀀愀爀琀椀挀甀氀愀爀氀礀 among women. Nowadays, , studies਀漀渀 琀栀攀 䴀伀䴀倀 最攀渀攀Ⰰ 漀洀瀀㄀Ⰰ 猀栀漀眀攀搀 琀栀攀 攀砀椀猀琀攀渀挀攀 漀昀 愀琀 氀攀愀猀琀 ㄀㤀 最攀渀漀琀礀瀀攀猀㨀 䄀Ⰰ 䈀Ⰰ 䈀愀 and C are associated to trachoma; D through K, including Ia and Ja, causing਀甀爀漀最攀渀椀琀愀氀 椀渀昀攀挀琀椀漀渀猀 愀渀搀 最攀渀漀琀礀瀀攀猀 䰀㄀Ⰰ 䰀㈀Ⰰ 䰀㈀愀 愀渀搀 䰀㌀ 愀爀攀 愀最攀渀琀猀 漀昀 lymphogranyloma venereum. Objective: The goal of this study was to genotype C. trachomatis਀椀搀攀渀琀椀昀椀攀搀 椀渀 攀渀搀漀挀攀爀瘀椀挀愀氀 猀愀洀瀀氀攀猀 漀昀 眀漀洀攀渀 愀猀猀椀猀琀攀搀 愀琀 愀 匀吀䐀 倀甀戀氀椀挀 匀攀爀瘀椀挀攀⸀㰀⼀猀瀀愀渀㸀㰀猀瀀愀渀 猀琀礀氀攀㴀∀昀漀渀琀ⴀ眀攀椀最栀琀㨀 渀漀爀洀愀氀㬀∀ 氀愀渀最㴀∀䔀一ⴀ唀匀∀㸀⸀ 䴀攀琀栀漀搀漀氀漀最礀㨀 䔀渀搀漀挀攀爀瘀椀挀愀氀 猀愀洀瀀氀攀猀 眀攀爀攀 tested for chlamydial infection with PCR for the cryptic plasmid. Conclusions: To our knowledge this study is the first one਀琀漀 挀栀愀爀愀挀琀攀爀椀稀攀 䈀爀愀稀椀氀椀愀渀 㰀椀 猀琀礀氀攀㴀∀∀㸀䌀栀氀愀洀礀搀椀愀 trachomatis urogenital isolates. Our next point is to investigate the਀爀攀氀愀琀椀漀渀猀栀椀瀀 漀昀 䈀爀愀稀椀氀椀愀渀 最攀渀漀琀礀瀀攀猀 眀椀琀栀 琀栀攀 挀氀椀渀椀挀愀氀 猀椀最渀愀氀猀 愀渀搀 猀礀洀瀀琀漀洀猀 眀椀琀栀 special attention to the asymptomatics and persistent infections.
