A pesquisa de propriedades antimicrobianas em plantas vem crescendo, como resultado à resistência dos microrganismos aos antibióticos comumente usados na terapêutica. O potencial efeito de</SPAN> inibição do crescimento bacteriano foi determinado através da técnica espectrofotométrica de microdiluição. Orifícios de microplaca foram preenchidos com 100 </SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 14pt; FONT-FAMILY: Symbol; mso-fareast-language: PT-BR; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: PT-BR; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-ascii-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-hansi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-char-type: symbol; mso-symbol-font-family: Symbol"><SPAN style="mso-char-type: symbol; mso-symbol-font-family: Symbol">m</SPAN></SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 14pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: PT-BR; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: PT-BR; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">L de meio de crescimento (<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:metricconverter ProductID="1,0 g" w:st="on">1,0 g</st1:metricconverter> de glicose; <st1:metricconverter ProductID="2,5 g" w:st="on">2,5 g</st1:metricconverter> de extrato de levedura; <st1:metricconverter ProductID="5,0 g" w:st="on">5,0 g</st1:metricconverter> de triptona/L) contendo diferentes concentrações de solamargina (substância teste), sobre os quais foram adicionados 100 </SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 14pt; FONT-FAMILY: Symbol; mso-fareast-language: PT-BR; mso-bidi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: PT-BR; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA; mso-ascii-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-hansi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-char-type: symbol; mso-symbol-font-family: Symbol"><SPAN style="mso-char-type: symbol; mso-symbol-font-family: Symbol">m</SPAN></SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 14pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-language: PT-BR; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: PT-BR; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">L de cultura bacteriana, em crescimento exponencial (0,5 da escala de McFarland), e leitura espectrofotométrica a 620 nm.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>Após incubação a 35-37ºC, por 24 horas, nova leitura espectrofotométrica foi realizada em mesmo comprimento de onda. Os testes foram realizados em triplicata. A Concentração Inibitória Mínima (CIM) não foi obtida em nenhuma das concentrações usadas e, pelos resultados, sugerem que proporções maiores sejam testadas. A comparação do potencial antibacteriano entre as espécies utilizadas, demonstrou que a solamargina mostra-se mais ativa para <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Pseudomonas</I> <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">aeruginosa</I> (ATCC 27853), <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Escherichia</I> <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">coli</I> (ATCC 25922) e <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Enteroccus</I> <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">faecalis</I> (ATCC 29212) onde obtivemos diminuição significativa no crescimento quando avaliado pela comparação da absorbância entre a menor e a maior diluição. Não foi observado nenhum efeito na inibição do crescimento das concentrações usadas para <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Staphylococcus aureus</I> (ATCC 29213). </SPAN></font></p><br><b>Palavras-chave: </b>&nbsp;antimicrobiano, solamargina, Solanum</td></tr></table></tr></td></table></body></html>
