Essas bactérias, caracterizam-se por apresentarem alteração na proteína ligadora de penicilina (PBP2a), codificada pelo gene <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Mec</I>A, localizado no cassete estafilocócico cromossômico (<I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">SCC</I>mec), conferindo resistência aos antibióticos beta-lactâmicos.<B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">Objetivo</B>: </SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial','sans-serif'; FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-bidi-font-weight: bold; mso-fareast-language: #00FF; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: #00FF" lang=EN-US>Identificar a freqüência de<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN>espécies de <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Staphylococcus </I>resistentes a meticilina<I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal"> </I>em amostras clínicas obtidas de processos infecciosos de </SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial','sans-serif'; FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-fareast-language: AR-SA; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA" lang=EN-US>pacientes com doença hematológica do HEMOAM. <B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">Material/Métodos</B>: As amostras clínicas foram obtidas de </SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial','sans-serif'; FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-fareast-language: #00FF; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: #00FF" lang=EN-US>73 pacientes, ambos os sexos, atendidos ou internados no HEMOAM. O isolamento e identificação das bactérias foi realizado utilizando-se meios de cultura específicos e espécie os para bactérias Gram-positivas. Para a identificação de gênero e espécie utilizou-se testes bioquímicos padronizados. <SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp;</SPAN>Para a identificação dos estafilococos meticilina resistentes, realizou-se o teste de PBP2a, suscetibilidade (E-teste) com antibióticos oxacilina e cefoxitina e PCR em tempo real. <B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">Resultados</B>: Dentre os 73 pacientes 53,42% (39/73) foram do gênero masculino e 46,6% (34/73) feminino. Das amostras coletadas identificou-se 14,8% de <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">S.aureus; </I>22,2% <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">S.epidermidis</I>; 22,2% <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">S.intermedius; </I>3,7% <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Micrococcus;18,6% Staphylococcus </I>spp; 7,4% <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">S.lugdunensis</I>; 3,7% <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">S.haemolyticus;</I>3,7% <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">S.simulans;</I> 3,7% <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">S.hyicus.</I></SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial','sans-serif'; FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-fareast-language: AR-SA; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA" lang=EN-US>A resistência a oxacilina foi detectada em </SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial','sans-serif'; FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-fareast-language: #00FF; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: #00FF" lang=EN-US>4,5% dos <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">S.aureus</I> e em 27,3% nas demais espécies. Para a cefoxitina a resistência foi de 6,8% em todas as espécies de estafilococos isoladas. O t</SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial','sans-serif'; FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-fareast-language: AR-SA; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA" lang=EN-US>este PBP2a foi positivo em 26,9% (7/26) das espécies e negativo em 73.10% (19/26). A PC</SPAN><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Arial','sans-serif'; FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-fareast-language: #00FF; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: #00FF" lang=EN-US>R em tempo real confirmou a presença do gene <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Mec</I>A em 26,9% (7/26) dos isolados com concordância de 100% entre os testes PBP2a e PCR.<B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">Comentários:</B> Esta pesquisa possibilitou detectar 26,9% de <I style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal">Staphylococcus </I>spp. resistentes a meticilina nas amostras clínicas dos pacientes, sugerindo bactérias de origem hospitalar.
