Resumo:Studies of environmental samples have been gaining importance in the last decade. These allow knowing and characterizing the diversity of species found in previously unstudied environments from samples collected directly from the environment, such as water, air, and soil. In order to identify culturable and non-cultivable microorganisms, metagenomic and bioinformatics techniques are used, which allow obtaining DNA from the species present in the samples, sequencing, and analyzing them through bioinformatics techniques and methodologies. This research had the objective of characterizing the microbial communities present. In the sediments collected at five points with different levels of anthropic impact in the Yaque del Sur hydrographic basin, using metagenomics and bioinformatics techniques, obtaining; as a result a great diversity of microorganism species, in addition to characterizing the state of the river through the main physicochemical parameters As a result of the research presented, it is possible to conclude that the molecular characterization of the microbial communities present in sediments at 5 points, with different levels of anthropogenic impact of the basin is high. They are allowed to characterize a great diversity of microorganisms made up of 2,430 species, 11, 36 genera, 498 families, 191 orders, 145 classes, and 60 phyla, distributed in 3 domains (archaea, eukaryotes, and bacteria) and two classifications as viruses and another unclassified group. The sampling points were classified into high, medium, and low anthropic zones, the El Palmar and Tamayo zones, which belong to the medium level, due to the significant proliferation of microorganisms and the incidence of the surrounding communities can give the leap to be a high anthropic zone. The results obtained, especially the high incidence of pathogenic bacteria in the Tamayo area, can, over time and if the appropriate measures are not taken, make the area an epicenter of pathogenic bacteria, especially 6 of the seven selected, such as E. coli, H. pylori, K. pneumoniae, P. aeruginosa, S. enterica, and V. cholera.
